Hello! I am Suzanna, a documentary-style photographer with over twenty years of film, darkroom + digital photography experience. I strive to capture joy or sorrow + a little adventure by meeting you wherever you are in life. My images are captivating – ethereal yet authentic. They are to be enjoyed now, but also to be cherished in later seasons of life. In the past, culture has advanced through shared songs + stories. Today – being such a visual generation – my hope is that we still all have stories to look back on with nostalgia. It begins in our homes. Let’s make sure our kids have photos to dig up, dust off, and to remember.
I live in North Carolina with my husband + my two barefoot boys. You can most often find me outside watercoloring, running with a good audiobook, having watermelon picnics or finding my way to water. I am lit up by lovely words, black + white films and photos, Masterpiece, open windows, fresh cut flowers, bokeh light + dreams of living on Corfu Island.
You don't make a photograph just with a camera.
You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.
